Mobility Research, Software Development and Data Provider

In cooperation with research partners from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and the technical university (TU) of Berlin, Senozon manages the development of MATSim, the worldwide leading agent based transport simulation project. Senozon also distributes analytics and visualization software for efficient analysis of MATSim model results. In addition the company provides base data for research and development institutions. For interest groups that want to work with modern modeling technics Senozon offers training courses with focus on data handling and processing for agent based systems.

MATSim: Agent Based transport simulation and mobility behavior model

The multi-agent transport simulation project MATSim is a long-term research project running for more than ten years and supported by various research groups. The ETH Zurich, the TU Berlin and Senozon are the leading institutions behind this project, taking care about continuous integration of the newest achievements developed to provide seamless transfer into market.

To simplify the work with MATSim – especially its resulting enormous datasets – Senozon develops and distributes user friendly graphical software tools. It allows one to easily visualize and analyze MATSim results. The software called "via" is distributed by Senozon under license for commercial industries as well as for research institutes.

Data Provider and Training

Senozon offers training courses for the handling and processing of very large datasets in the context of agent based systems and provides model and geo datasets.

What if all inhabitants of the greater area of Berlin, that occasionally use public transport would by season tickets and leave their cars at home? We estimated the additional potential demand for the public transport system of Berlin.

Berlin – activitiy based, dynamic, multimodal

Berlin should eventually get a new airport (BER) which replaces the airports Tegel and Schönefeld. A city of business, a city of politics and a city for tourists - and they all will enter and leave Berlin from south-east rather then from north-west. What does that mean for the public transport system? We recreated Berlin and its mobility for the BVG to find answers to these questions.
